Since the launch of Campaign 4, new Dungeon Master Brennan Lee Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with extensive world-building, a wide array of heroes, and a gripping narrative featuring angels, demons, and sinister influences increasing in power within the urban setting.
Note: Revealing details for Episode 3 of the new season follow below.
The Warrior Group Introduced
The latest chapter finished on a huge suspense moment and introduced the initial group of heroes who will branch out from the central cast to embark on their independent quest, apart from the additional parties.
The combat-focused team features the determined fighter (played by Travis Willingham), Thimble (the talented performer), Tyranny (Whitney), Wicander Halovar (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan Vale (the actor).
Dividing the Cast
Given an extensive roster, it was evident from the start that keeping everyone at a single group would be unfeasible.
This explains, the opening chapters of this story serve as an Overture, intertwining the characters’ stories before branching into three distinct groups: Fighters, Schemers, and Seekers.
The Nature of the Warrior Group
According to Brennan Lee Mulligan, the warrior group is for participants who enjoy a classically intense battle-oriented gameplay experience where peaceful solutions are rare.
Initially, characters like the reluctant priest the cleric might seem unsuited, but the developments of episode 3 show why these five characters are perfectly fit for the Soldiers table.
Why They Must Go
To begin with, the party has a clear idea where to go next after a brutal first encounter with The Crow Keepers.
Casimir of the deceased character—whose passing kicked off the story’s plot—manipulated the enemy for his own means, entering the hidden lair, attacking the rogue, and stealing all the magical artifacts to sell off.
Casimir then settled his obligations and fled to a secure base in the remote area, above the city, with Cyd Pridesire pursuing him.
Personal Motivations
Additionally, each member has a specific drive to exit the metropolitan area:
- The agile hero, as the close ally and trusted friend, wants vengeance.
- Kattigan is familiar with the northern area and warns that it is a dangerous place.
- Tyranny and The cleric, having resisted his relatives’ demands to eliminate the target and instead freed him, have no safe haven.
- However, their reputation as key figures in House Halovar could help the team access locations they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Additionally, Teor swore a life debt to The savior for his rescue and will now follow him anywhere.
Wanted and Hunted
Finally, all of them are wanted by the rulers that control the setting for a multiple motives, making staying in the city dangerous:
- Thimble and Kattigan are recognized lawbreakers.
- The strong figure and The cleric defied the influential house and the legion of demons they are allied with.
- The fighter is marked for death by the clan.
This leaves them little choice but to head to the remote area in quest for Casimir.
